«Soy Robert.

«I'm Robert. My passion is photography and animals. Especially cats, they fascinate me the most, they are mysterious and dignified. My journey with cats photography began few years ago when my wife started to breed Maine Coons. Being around the cats and photographing them gives me a lot of joy.
I spent a lot of time perfecting my skills in capturing the beauty of cats. My goal is to show different expressions and emotions flowing from the cat's eyes. I prefer to use a simple background and light setting which complements the cat, nothing else.
In my photographs I follow Albert Einstein's maxim: "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler"»

The Maine Coon is one of the largest domesticated breeds of cat.
It has a distinctive physical appearance and valuable hunting skills. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically "native" to the state of Maine (though the feline was simply introduced there) where it is the official state cat.
No records of the Maine Coon's exact origins and date of introduction to the United States exist, so several competing hypotheses have been suggested. The breed was popular in cat shows in the late 19th century, but its existence became threatened when long-haired breeds from overseas were introduced in the early 20th century. The Maine Coon has since made a comeback and is now one of the more popular cat breeds in the world.
The Maine Coon is a large and sociable cat, hence its nickname, "the gentle giant". It is characterized by a robust bone structure, rectangular body shape, a silky flowing coat and a long, bushy tail. The breed's colors vary widely, with only lilac and chocolate disallowed for pedigree. Reputed for its intelligence and playful, gentle personality, the Maine Coon is often cited as having "dog-like" characteristics. Professionals notice certain health problems in the breed including feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and hip dysplasia, but reputable breeders use modern screening methods to minimize the frequency of these problems.

«Ten years ago my family and I had the opportunity to move to China. After a while we started to miss the company of animals, they have always been in our lives. The dog was first, later a cat we rescued from the street. Then we heard about Maine Coons and we brought one from Europe. Now we have fallen in love with this breed.
In the blink of an eye several cats were walking around the house. Of course, pretty soon we wanted to have our own kittens and our adventure with breeding began.
Then we came to the question, how to present our cats to the world? I think my journey with photography started at this moment. There was only one answer to this question, I needed to learn photography. I started collecting necessary equipment, learning the basics of photography and I took my first photos. During this process, I found great pleasure in taking pictures. Playing with cats and taking their pictures gave me a lot of joy.
I decided that my pictures shouldn’t look like all other beautiful cat pictures, they must be something special. I started experimenting with light, backgrounds and retouching.
After several thousand photos I ended up with my current style.»

«There are so many things in Maine Coons, we can talk about their advantages for hours. But generally what impresses me the most is their size, intelligence and loyalty. I was always fascinated by large wild cats and the size of the Maine Coon gives me a sense of communing with big cats. Besides, they are extremely intelligent, sometimes they can outsmart even us. Before Maine Coons I always thought that all cats are walking their own path and don’t care about people. Now I know that that’s not true, I have a few MC girls which follow me everywhere and they are more loyal than our dog. Maine Coons are also very communicative and talkative. Discussion with them always gives us lots of smiles.»
