El 24 de Agosto es el cumple de

Sammeer Wani, fotógrafo indio nacido en 1987 en Srinagar, la capital de verano de Cachemira.
Sammeer hizo su licenciatura en aplicaciones informáticas en el Colegio Islamia de Ciencia y Comercio de la Universidad de Cachemira. En 2013 Sammeer completó su maestría en el Departamento de Periodismo Convergente de la Universidad Central de Cachemira. Durante el curso sus fotografías fueron apreciadas desde el interior de la Universidad Central de Cachemira. Ha ganado el Tercer premio junto a su querido amigo Ahmad Mukhtiyar del CSIR-OSSD (Open Source Drug Discovery) concurso de vídeos cortos de YouTube sobre la tuberculosis en Calcuta, bajo el título "TB-La Carga Global".

El 25 de Agosto es el cumple de

Boris Andreyevich Mikhailov (Борис Андрійович Михайлов), fotógrafo artístico nacido en 1938, que ha sido descrito como uno de los artistas más importantes que han surgido de la antigua URSS.
Nacido en la antigua Unión Soviética, vivió y trabajó durante varias décadas en su ciudad natal de Kharkiv, Ucrania. Recibió una educación como ingeniero y comenzó a aprender por sí mismo la práctica de la fotografía. Hoy es uno de los fotógrafos más exitosos y conocidos, que ya estaba trabajando activamente en la época soviética. Su obra está influenciada en gran medida en los medios del arte conceptual y la fotografía documental social. Al final de la década de 1960 realizó su primera exposición. Después que de la KGB encontró fotos de desnudos de su esposa, fue expulsado de su trabajo como ingeniero, y comenzó a trabajar a tiempo completo con la fotografía. Christopher Prentiss Michel, inversor estadounidense, empresario y fotógrafo nacido en 1967. Es el fundador de Affinity Labs y Military.com y lleva adelante Nautilus Ventures, un fondo de capital riesgo de semillas.
Como fotógrafo, su colección incluye imágenes de lugares extremos como los polos Norte y Sur, el Everest, La zona desmilitarizada de Corea, Papua Nueva Guinea, y en el borde del espacio (a bordo de un planeador U-2 Spy). También ha tenido la oportunidad de fotografiar una variedad de líderes mundiales, entre ellos el 14º Dalai Lama. Sus fotografías se pueden encontrar en su galería online. Su trabajo en fotoperiodismo es prolífico, y sus fotografías aparecen regularmente en galerías, impresas y online. Patrick Johannes Adams, actor canadiense nacido en 1981. Es conocido por interpretar a Mike Ross, un desertor de la universidad convertido en abogado en la serie de TV éxito de USA Network "Suits".
Adams apareció en episodios de Cold Case y Jack y Bobby, y desde entonces ha tenido papeles en Lost, Friday Night Lights, Sin rastro, Comandante en Jefe, Heartland, Ghost Whisperer, NCIS, Cupido, Luck, Raising the Bar y Suits.
Es también un ávido fotógrafo, habiendo conesguido con muchas de sus fotos un mayor reconocimiento después de "Suits detrás de la lente" y eventos en la #PJAGallery.

Mary Anna McCartney, fotógrafa y escritora de cocina vegetariana inglesa nacida en 1969. McCartney es la hija biológica mayor del músico y compositor Paul McCartney y la fotógrafa Linda Eastman McCartney.
Siguiendo los pasos de su madre, McCartney se convirtió en fotógrafa profesional. Ella era editor de fotografías para la editorial de libros de música Omnibus Press y en 1992 comenzó a tomar fotografías profesionalmente, especializada en el retrato y la fotografía de moda. Debido a que su abuela paterna y su madre murieron de cáncer de mama, ella comenzó a hacer campaña para la concienciación del cáncer de mama en el Reino Unido. Mohamed "Mo" Amin, reportero gráfico de Kenia nacido en 1943 en Nairobi, conocido por sus fotos y videos de la hambruna en Etiopía.
Desarrolló su interés por la fotografía en la escuela. Fundó la empresa Camerapix en 1963 en Dar es Salaam y la trasladó a Nairobi tres años más tarde. Durante la década de 1970, se convirtió en uno de los más destacados nuevos fotógrafos de prensa africanos, al informar sobre las guerras y golpes de estado a lo largo del continente, y sus tomas eran a menudo utilizadas por los medios de comunicación occidentales. El momento más influyente de Amin llegó cuando sus fotos, junto con la presentación de informes de Michael Buerk del 1984 sobre la hambruna de Etiopía, atrajeron la atención internacional sobre la crisis y finalmente ayudaron a iniciar la ola de caridad que dio lugar a los conciertos Live Aid.

Jean-Baptiste Gustave Le Gray, fotógrafo francés nacido en 1820 en Villiers-le-Bel, Valle del Oise, que ha sido llamado "el fotógrafo francés más importante del siglo XIX", debido a sus innovaciones técnicas en el todavía nuevo medio de la fotografía, su papel como maestro de otros destacados fotógrafos y "la extraordinaria imaginación que aportó al desarrollo de la fotografía".
Se formó originalmente como pintor, estudiando con François-Édouard Picot y Paul Delaroche. Incluso expuso en el salón en 1848 y 1853. Luego se pasó a la fotografía en los primeros años de su desarrollo.

Raoul Ubac, pintor, escultor, fotógrafo y grabador francés nacido en 1910.
En 1937 hizo "Cabeza de Maniquí", una fotografía tomada de un maniquí (hecho por André Masson) consistente en objetos cotidianos. Otra de sus obras en la fotografía "El conciliábulo". También creó la litografía de color "Tres desnudos sentados".
La familia de la madre de Ubac tenían una curtiembre y su padre era un magistrado. En sus primeros años viajó a través de algunas partes de Europa a pie. Llegó por primera vez a París en 1928. Ya estaba inscrito en la Sorbona para un graduado en estudios literarios cuando decidió cambiar a la Academia de Arte de Montparnasse. Fue allí donde se trasladó en compañía de los surrealistas.
Murió en 1985.

On August 24 is the birthday of

Sammeer Wani, Indian photographer born in 1987 in Srinagar, the summer capital of Kashmir.
Sammeer did his bachelor’s degree in computer application at Islamia College of Science & Commerce from Kashmir University. In 2013, Sammeer completed his master’s degree at Department of Convergent Journalism from Central University of Kashmir. During the course his photography was appreciated from inside Central University of Kashmir. He has won Third prize along with his dear friend Ahmad Mukhtiyar for CSIR-OSSD (Open Source Drug Discovery) short YouTube video competition on TB in Kolkata under the title “TB- The Global Burden”.

On August 25 is the birthday of

Boris Andreyevich Mikhailov (Бори́с Андрі́йович Миха́йлов), fine art photographer born in 1938, who has been described as one of the most important artists to have emerged from the former USSR.
Born in the former Soviet Union, he lived and worked for several decades in his hometown Kharkiv, Ukraine. He received an education as an engineer and started to teach himself the practice of photography. Today he is one of the most successful and well-known photographers, who already was actively working in soviet times. His work very much is influenced in the means of Concept-Art and social documentary photography. At the end of the 1960s he had his first exhibition. After the KGB found nude pictures of his wife he was set off his job as an engineer and started to full-time work with photography. He shot a series of everyday-life scenes-documentation. His most famous work during this period (1968–1975) was the "Red Series". In these photographs he mainly used the colour red, to picture people, groups and city-life. Red is the color standing for October Revolution, political party and the social system of soviet society.

On August 26 is the birthday of

Christopher Prentiss Michel, American investor, entrepreneur and photographer born in 1967. He is the founder of Affinity Labs and Military.com and runs Nautilus Ventures, a seed venture fund.
Michel is also a photographer. His collection includes photographs from extreme locations like the North & South Poles, Everest, The Korean DMZ, Papua New Guinea, and at the edge of space (aboard a U-2 Spy Plane). He's also had the opportunity to photograph a variety of global leaders, including the 14th Dalai Lama. His photographs can be found online at his gallery. His photojournalism work is prolific and his photographs appear regularly in galleries, print and online. His "Flying Emperor" photograph was selected as a National Geographic Photo of the Day and was the 2nd place finisher in the Picture of the Year 2014.

On August 27 is the birthday of

Patrick Johannes Adams, Canadian actor born in 1981. He is best known for playing Mike Ross, a brilliant college dropout turned lawyer in USA Network's hit TV series Suits.
Adams appeared in episodes of Cold Case and Jack and Bobby, and has since had roles in Lost, Friday Night Lights, Without a Trace, Commander in Chief, Heartland, Ghost Whisperer, NCIS, Cupid, Luck, Raising the Bar and Suits.
He is also an avid photographer, with many of his photos getting more recognition after Suits' Behind The Lens and #PJAGallery events.

On August 28 is the birthday of

Mary Anna McCartney, English photographer and vegetarian cookery writer born in 1969. McCartney is the eldest biological child of musician and songwriter Paul McCartney and photographer Linda Eastman McCartney.
Following in the footsteps of her mother, McCartney became a professional photographer. She was a photo editor for the music-book publisher Omnibus Press and in 1992 began taking photographs professionally, specializing in portrait and fashion photography. Because her paternal grandmother and her mother died of breast cancer, she began campaigning for breast cancer awareness in the United Kingdom. As a result, she became close friends with Cherie Blair, wife of former UK prime minister Tony Blair. This led to McCartney being chosen to take the first official photo of the prime minister and his wife with their fourth child, Leo, born 20 May 2000. Before this, the most well-known photos of hers were the last photographs taken of her mother, three weeks before her death. McCartney has taken portraits of Sam Taylor-Wood, Ralph Fiennes, Jude Law, and of her sister Stella McCartney, who is a fashion designer.

On August 29 is the birthday of

Mohamed "Mo" Amin, Kenyan photojournalist born in 1943 in Nairobi, noted for his pictures and videotapes of the Ethiopian famine.
He developed an interest in photography at school. He founded Camerapix company in 1963 in Dar es Salaam and moved the company to Nairobi three years later. During the 1970s, he became one of the most relied-upon African news photographers, reporting on wars and coups all through the continent, and his pictures were often used by Western news media. Amin's most influential moment came when his photos, along with Michael Buerk's reporting of the 1984 Ethiopian famine brought international attention to the crisis and eventually helped start the charity wave that resulted in Live Aid concerts.
Apart from Ethiopian famine, he contributed exclusive photos of the fall of Idi Amin and of Mengistu Haile Mariam, and was author of numerous books, including Journey Through Pakistan, Pilgrimage to Mecca, and covered various themes like East African Wildlife and the Uganda Railway.
In 1991, Amin lost his left arm during an ammunition dump explosion in Ethiopia during the Ethiopian Civil War.
He died in 1996.

Today, August 30, is the birthday of

Jean-Baptiste Gustave Le Gray, French photographer born in 1820 in Villiers-le-Bel, Val-d'Oise, that has been called "the most important French photographer of the nineteenth century" because of his technical innovations in the still new medium of photography, his role as the teacher of other noted photographers, and "the extraordinary imagination he brought to picture making".
He was originally trained as a painter, studying under François-Édouard Picot and Paul Delaroche. He even exhibited at the salon in 1848 and 1853. He then crossed over to photography in the early years of its development.
He made his first daguerreotypes by 1847. His early photographs included portraits; scenes of nature such as Fontainebleau Forest; and buildings such as châteaux of the Loire Valley.
He taught photography to students such as Charles Nègre, Henri Le Secq, Nadar, Olympe Aguado, and Maxime Du Camp. In 1851 he became one of the first five photographers hired for the Missions Héliographiques to document French monuments and buildings. In that same year he helped found the Société Héliographique, the "first photographic organization in the world". Le Gray published a treatise on photography, which went through four editions, in 1850, 1851, 1852, and 1854.
He probably died in 1884.

On August 31 is the birthday of

Raoul Ubac, French painter, sculptor, photographer and engraver born in 1910.
In 1937, he made Tete du Mannequin, a photograph taken of a mannequin (made by André Masson) consisting of everyday objects. Another of his works include the photograph 'La Conciliabule'. He also created a color lithograph Three Seated Nudes.
Ubac's mother’s family ran a tannery and his father was a magistrate. In his early years he traveled through some parts of Europe on foot. He first came to Paris in 1928. He was already enrolled at the Sorbonne's for a degree in literary studies when he decided to switch to the Art Academy of Montparnasse. It was there that he moved in the company of the Surrealists.
He died in 1985.
